Defer Your Loan or Credit Card Payment

A loan payment deferral is an arrangement between a lender and borrower that allows the borrower to postpone their loan payment temporarily. Loan payment deferral is available for the following types of loans:

  • Auto Loans
  • Credit Cards
  • Home Equity Lines of Credit
  • Home Equity Loans (Second Mortgages)
  • Personal Loans
  • Overdraft Lines of Credit

There’s no fee for this deferment. When your deferment is approved, please make sure to stop any automatic payments to your loan either from another bank/credit union or Elevations.

No, the payment you skip will be moved to the end of the loan.

Will this deferral be reported in a negative manner with anyone including Elevations?

No, this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Will interest still accrue?

Yes, interest will continue to accrue on your loan.

Is there a fee to defer my payment?

No, we are not charging a fee.

University Accounting Service (UAS) is the loan servicer for your account and provides 24/7 access to view your loan information and make payments at www.uasecho.com. (Payments by mail should be sent to University Accounting Service, P.O. Box 5865, Carol Stream, IL 60197-5865.)

Financial Counseling for Members

GreenPath Financial Wellness* is our trusted resource to help you ease financial stress and develop a plan to address your financial concerns. This nonprofit offers free one-on-one financial counseling, credit report reviews and financial education tools. Through their debt management program, GreenPath can contact your creditors to negotiate concessions and work out loan payment agreements. They can even help with housing services from pre-purchase education to foreclosure prevention, and all GreenPath counselors are HUD certified.
