ELEVATIONS COMMUNITY RELIEF FUND
When you round up your debit card purchases for Elevations Foundation’s Community Relief Fund, we’ll match your donation. Together, let’s support our community’s fight against the COVID-19 crisis.
Donations made through our debit card round-up program, Local Change, go to two designated local organizations each month of 2020 via Elevations Foundation’s Community Relief Fund. This July, your donation will help provide healthcare services for vulnerable populations through Homeward Alliance, and your change will also help meet the increased community need for mental health services through Mental Health Partners.
With underlying medical conditions and a lack of reliable healthcare, chronically homeless individuals are more vulnerable to sickness and death if infected by the COVID-19 virus. Funds collected will go to healthcare services for vulnerable populations. Learn more at homewardalliance.org
All funds will go to Colorado Crisis Services (CCS). CCS monitors a 24-hour support line for anyone affected by a mental health, substance use or emotional crisis. All calls and texts are connected to a mental health professional who will provide immediate support, as well as additional resources including the closest walk-in crisis center. Learn more at mhpcolorado.org and coloradocrisisservices.org.
Our branch lobbies are temporarily closed due to coronavirus safety precautions. If you need help and would like to visit a branch, please schedule an appointment to meet with a Financial Solutions Guide. We also have many other ways to manage your accounts, including online appointments, drive-thru banking (no appointment needed), online banking and more.
We have temporarily closed our Boulder UMC Branch located on the CU Boulder campus, and our ATM inside the UMC will also be inaccessible from March 21 through March 29. We have additional ATMs around the CU Boulder campus that remain open. We are working closely with CU Boulder leadership to make closure decisions, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We have many nearby locations in Boulder.
The IRS issued IRS Notice 2020-18, postponing the due date for filing Federal income tax returns to July 15. Because of this, the deadline for making prior year contributions to your Elevations IRA or HSA for 2019 is also extended to July 15, 2020. To make prior year contributions, please schedule an appointment at a branch, call us at (800) 429-7626 or connect with us through Secure Chat in online banking. We will provide you with the required documentation to make your contribution and sign. Because your prior year contribution must be signed, you cannot make this contribution through a normal transfer in online banking. Find out more from the IRS.
We are temporarily not offering CO-OP shared branching services to guest shared branching members at our Elevations branches. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you are a member of a credit union that’s part of the CO-OP network, you may continue to use our ATMs.

As soon as we’re able to open up applications, your Elevations Business Banking Relationship Manager will reach out to you with additional information and instructions on next steps. In the meantime, you can learn more about assistance for small businesses from the Department of the Treasury.
The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service announced on March 30 that distribution of economic impact payments will begin in the next three weeks and will be distributed automatically, with no action required for most people.
Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return need to take no action, and will receive their payment directly to their bank account. Those who do not receive their Social Security benefits via direct deposit will be sent a paper check. Click here to learn more from the IRS.
In the coming weeks, the Treasury Department plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.
If and when you need to provide your Elevations account information for your payment, be sure to have the Elevations routing number on hand (our routing number is 307074580) and your full 13-digit ACH account number. Pick one of the options below to find your account number:
The vast majority of people do not need to take any action. The IRS has stated that it will calculate and automatically send the economic impact payment to those eligible. If you’ve already filed your 2019 tax return, the IRS will use this information to calculate the payment amount. If you haven’t yet filed your return for 2019, the IRS will use information from your 2018 tax filing to calculate the payment. The economic impact payment will be deposited directly into the same banking account reflected on the return filed.
Our members, employees and local community are all feeling the impacts of COVID-19, and we want to give you an easy and effective way to help our community during this time. If you are able to give — whether it’s 5¢, $5 or $50 per month — we truly appreciate your ongoing support of the Elevations Community Relief Fund.
Elevations Foundation will maximize your donation through partnerships with local organizations that are delivering funds and support to first responders, medical staff and their families, and those directly impacted by COVID-19. Your donations will provide support to impacted individuals and families in our community. These funds will work to mitigate the crisis across the northern Front Range in three areas: Northern Colorado, Boulder County and Southeast of Boulder County.
Our members helped to meet the increased community need for two local food banks in June. Donations made through our debit card round-up program, Local Change, went to these two local organizations:
To keep pace with our community’s increased need, our food bank requires more resources — by July, we’ll spend more than twice what we budgeted for food purchasing. This is our reality for the long haul, as we anticipate the recovery period lasting much longer than the virus itself. For every dollar donated, Community Food Share can provide three meals
We anticipate that sourcing food through our normal channels will become more difficult with the spread of the virus. We need your help now more than ever. Your financial donation to the Food Bank will help us prepare for the inevitable changes resulting from COVID-19 outbreak. For every dollar donated, the Food Bank provides two meals to those in need.
Thank you to our members, who stepped up and donated $75,000 from March 20 through April 5. Elevations Credit Union matched these donations for a total of $150,000 granted the week of April 6. Here’s how the funds were distributed:
The Health Care Worker Emergency Relief Fund provides financial assistance to staff facing financial hardships, needing childcare or needing mental health support.
The Northern Colorado COVID-19 Response Fund will provide funding to local nonprofit organizations that work with people disproportionately affected by the consequences of COVID-19.
Supporting staff facing unanticipated financial challenges and removing barriers to providing the best treatment for COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County will ensure essential services for community members who find themselves at the intersection of being most vulnerable to the virus and most impacted by inequity.
The Neighbor to Neighbor COVID-19 Relief Fund will provide financial resources to charitable organizations in Longmont and the St. Vrain Valley area that are involved in supporting vulnerable populations that have been affected by the outbreak.
Southeast of Boulder County
This Disaster Relief Fund will fund local nonprofit service providers for basic needs provision to the most vulnerable populations. This Disaster Relief Fund will also include first responders such as local police and fire.
This Coronavirus Relief Fund will purchase food for high risk families to be delivered safely by volunteers, and offer support to local food banks and pantries.
Thank you so much for your support. Following the 2013 Colorado floods, together with our members, Elevations Foundation raised and provided over $430,000 to local relief efforts using this fundraising model.
